What Does IP69 Mean?
The IP Code, International Protection Code, sometimes also interpreted as Ingress Protection Rating, classifies and rates the degree of protection provided against the intrusion of dust, and water in electrical enclosures.
IP69 means complete protection against contact dust and protection against the effects of high pressure and high temperature water jets.

Why is IP69 Important?
IP69 testing is for equipment, like control panels or electrical equipment that is installed in areas that get washed with high pressure hot water. Such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, industrial food packaging and more.
You may have heard of IP69K, and wonder what is the difference. IP69K is for equipment installed on road vehicles. The IP69K testing is meant to validate that the equipment installed in road vehicles can with stand very severe wash-downs with pressure washers.
